Weather warning for Cork changed from yellow to orange

LAST: Met Éireann has raised the weather warning level for Cork from yellow to orange.

The forecaster this morning released orange rainfall status for Cork and three other counties – Tipperary Waterford and Kilkenny.

It comes into effect at noon, until 5 p.m., and Met Éireann warns that ‘intense rain this afternoon (Monday) will lead to flooding’.

SUNDAY: Trick ‘r’ caterers in Cork may have to rethink their plans as Met Éireann have issued a rain warning for Halloween.

The yellow status rain warning for Cork is valid from 6am on Monday until midnight.

Forecasters warn that heavy rain on Halloween Monday will lead to localized flooding and disruption.

“Monday morning of the holiday will be cloudy and wet [in Muinster] with persistent and locally heavy rains, causing surface flooding in places, ”said Met Éireann.

“During the afternoon, a clearing to mostly dry conditions will develop in the west, gradually expanding eastward later.

“A cooler day with afternoon highs of 10-12 degrees with variable light to moderate or southwesterly winds.”
