There is a possibility of freezing conditions for parts of southeast Louisiana and southern Mississippi Friday morning. This blog will contain hour-by-hour updates on impacts and conditions on the North and South Rim. 12:00 p.m. Update: Temperatures are between 30 and 41. 36 Hammond, 37 Bogalusa, 39 Slidell, 38 Gulfport, 39 Kenner, 40 Lakefront and 41 Belle Chasse. North wind 12-25 mph. Wind chill between 20 s and 30 s. Showers cover the South Shore and rain spreads over the North Shore. The patterns are more bullish on the potential for morning sleet and freezing rain in the winter weather advisory area. 11 p.m. update: temperatures are dropping. Mid 30s to 40s Northshore and upper 30s to low 40s in the south. 39 now at the airport. The wind is north 10-20 mph. Wind chills mostly upper 20s to lower 30s. The rain is moving east over the entire region. A winter mix increases westward along I-10 near Lake Charles to Lafayette. It’s about 20 to 25 degrees cooler than 24 hours ago! The wind is north 12-29 mph. Wind chill is in the upper 20s to mid 30s. Showers are heading towards the North Shore and moving east over the South Shore. 8pm update: Temperatures are in the 30s to 40s. Most areas of the Northshore are in the 30s. Wind is NE 12-25 mph. Wind chills are in the 20s and 30s. Light rain is moving northeast in our area. The wind is North 17-23 mph. Wind chills are in the low to mid 30s. Showers are moving over the South Shore from the Southwest. As temperatures drop overnight, freezing rain is feared. The main concern concerns bridges and viaducts. Before leaving in the morning, be sure to contact us for the latest road information. 6:00 p.m. Update: The Winter Weather Advisor is now in effect. Temperatures are in the 30’s to 40’s. Most areas of the Northshore are in the 30’s. Wind is NE 12-25 mph. Wind chills are in the 20s and 30s. Light rain is moving northeast over our area.

7 p.m. update:

Temperatures are currently between 30s and 40s. The wind is North 17-23 mph. Wind chills are in the low to mid 30s. Showers are moving over the South Shore from the Southwest. As temperatures drop overnight, freezing rain is feared. The main concern concerns bridges and viaducts. Before leaving in the morning, be sure to contact us for the latest road information.
