More miserable weather is on its way to Ireland this week as Met Eireann predicts more rain on the way with heavy and lingering spells expected at times.
According to Met Eireann, conditions will remain variable for the remainder of the working week with the occasional bout of rain or showers.
Persistent rain is forecast from Thursday evening to Friday morning and although Met Eireann says there is still some uncertainty, early indications are that Sunday will get very wet.
According to the latest Met Eireann weather forecast, Wednesday will be cool and windy with cool to strong and gusty south-west to west winds. Rain will clear from the east and southeast tomorrow morning leaving a mix of sunny spells and scattered showers for the rest of the day. Some showers can become heavy or stormy. The best of the dry intervals will come in the evening. Highest temperatures in the afternoon 10 to 15 degrees, hottest in the southeast.
Largely clear with occasional showers Wednesday evening, more frequent in western areas. Minimum temperatures of 7 to 10 degrees. Mainly light to moderate winds from the southwest, violent along the Atlantic coasts.
The latest Met Eireann weather forecast for Ireland says Thursday will see a mix of sunny spells and showers, most common in western regions. The best sunshine will be in the south. Maximum temperatures of 14 to 17 degrees in moderate winds from the southwest.
The showers will give way to more persistent rain Thursday evening, becoming heavy in some areas. Lowest temperatures 9 to 12 degrees in moderate southwesterly winds.
Persistent rain will clear to the southeast Friday morning leaving another mix of sunny spells and scattered showers. Maximum temperatures of 12 to 16 degrees with a moderate westerly wind. It will be largely clear with isolated showers on Friday evening. A little cool with lows of 6 to 9 degrees. Mainly weak weakening westerly wind.
According to Met Eireann, Saturday will bring a mix of sunny spells and isolated showers with highs of 13-15 degrees in light westerly winds, receding to the south.
Met Eireann says in its latest weather forecast for Ireland that considerable uncertainty remains for the future outlook, but early indications are that Sunday will become very wet and dull again.
