Chesapeake Public Works noted Tolls on the Dominion Boulevard Veterans Bridge will be suspended beginning at 1 a.m. due to snow accumulation.
The bridge carries US Highway 17, which connects Hampton Roads to Elizabeth City, North Carolina.
Tolls will be reinstated as soon as road conditions improve.
The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) said traveling would be hazardous due to snowfall, high winds and freezing temperatures through Saturday morning in the Hampton Roads area.
Weather conditions could result in reduced visibility, icy conditions and an increased potential for downed trees and power lines.
According to VDOT Hampton Roads, all crews in the area are actively engaged in monitoring and dealing with freeways and other roads. More than 300 trucks equipped with plows and spreaders are ready to help you.
VDOT Hampton Roads said crews will begin plowing and clearing state-maintained roads where the buildup exceeds about two inches.
If you are on the road or plan to travel, VDOT has some resources for you. You can also see the latest traffic conditions on 13News Now’s Traffic.
