Triad Weather Forecast | wfmynews2.com

Dry to start the new week, a little sweeter too.

GREENSBORO, North Carolina — Tonight: Clear and very cold. Bottom 15.

Sunday: Partially sunny. Black Ice AM. High 42.

Monday: Quite sunny. High 48.

Tuesday: Partially sunny. High 52.

Wednesday: Partly cloudy. High 55.

Thusday: Cloudy. Possible showers. Softer. High 61.

As a coastal low tracks north as an intense Nor’easter, high pressure is building up behind our cold front which has brought rain and snow, to clear us and bring some more air colder for tonight. As the high pressure builds expect winds around 25-30 mph tonight but ease up a bit overnight. A night of bitter cold weather is on its way with clear skies, relaxing winds and some snow on the ground, temperatures will bottom out in the mid 10s with wind chills in the low 10s early Sunday morning.

Expect a cold day again for Sunday, but the highs are bouncing back to the low 40s. A quick disturbance aloft will add some clouds to the mix for Sunday, but there should still be sunshine. Sunday remains dry.

As we kick off a new week and head into February, we will start off on a mild note with temperatures slowly climbing to the mid 50s by Wednesday and even up to 60 degrees by Thursday. We will see our chances of rain increase by Thursday and Friday, but the exact timing and amounts of rain still cannot be determined. This time we’re looking at ordinary liquid rain…for a change!

The normal maximum is 50 and the normal minimum is 30.
